Amanda oversees a wide range of building projects, with a particular passion for historic renovations. She brings thoughtful leadership and attention to detail to projects that require both technical expertise and respect for existing structures. Working closely with clients and her team, she develops practical, well-executed solutions that honor the integrity of each building while meeting modern needs.

Her ability to juggle responsibilities and anticipate challenges makes her a steady presence within the office. Whether managing complex renovation work or supporting her team behind the scenes, Amanda is committed to creating solutions that work—for clients, for staff, and for the long-term success of the firm.

Adam O’Kane, P.E. is a Principal at Leigh + O’Kane, where he helps lead the firm’s structural engineering practice, client relationships, and strategic growth. Since joining the firm in August 2000, Adam has built more than 25 years of experience delivering structural solutions for a wide range of civic, commercial, and public-sector projects throughout the region.

Adam is known for his collaborative approach and his commitment to working as a true extension of the design team. He believes the best results come from strong teamwork, open communication, and being fully engaged in the process from the earliest stages of a project through construction. Clients and partners value his ability to work alongside them as a trusted resource — bringing the responsiveness, perspective, and reliability of an in-house structural department while also offering the depth of expertise that comes from decades of focused engineering experience.

His project experience includes the Kansas City International Airport Parking Garage, Lee’s Summit Green Street Market, Lee’s Summit Fire Station 4, Lee’s Summit Fire Station 5, Shawnee Fire Station 71 and 73 Renovations, and the Lenexa Civic Center. Across each project, Adam brings a practical mindset, technical knowledge, and a steady approach to problem solving that helps teams move forward with confidence.

As a licensed Professional Engineer, Adam is valued for his responsiveness, clear communication, and ability to provide thoughtful structural guidance that supports both design vision and project goals. He takes pride in helping clients and partners solve challenges, strengthen project teams, and deliver successful outcomes for the communities they serve.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys golf, travel, playing guitar, and spending time with family.

As Director of Engineering, Wayne’s favorite part of his job is watching new engineers that he’s trained develop and grow as they start to manage and design a project on their own. He also manages projects for structural buildings, oversees the structural building design and works closely with architectural clients and multiple members of the design and construction teams.

When he’s not engineering life-sized buildings, he enjoys building with Lego, which exhibits his deep passion for design in and outside of the office.
