Leigh + O’Kane provided structural engineering services for the renovation, expansion, and adaptive reuse of the historic Heim Building for J. Rieger & Co. in Kansas City, Missouri.
The project required a careful balance between historic preservation and modern functionality, supporting the transformation of an existing industrial structure into a working distillery and public-facing destination. Structural solutions were developed to reinforce and adapt the building while preserving its historic character and accommodating new uses.
This project reflects Leigh + O’Kane’s experience working within historic and adaptive reuse environments, where thoughtful engineering supports both preservation goals and long-term performance.
