Kansas City International Airport Parking Structure

The Kansas City International Airport parking garage is more than a place to park. It’s the first experience travelers have when arriving in Kansas City, and every detail was designed with intention.

We were the Structural Engineer of Record as part of the project team for KCI’s new single-terminal airport, including the design of the 6,300-space parking garage and associated bridge structures. The garage was carefully planned to support efficient circulation, clear sightlines, intuitive wayfinding, and inclusive pedestrian access, ensuring a smooth transition from vehicle to terminal.

Constructed from thousands of precast concrete elements, the structure integrates sustainability and technology, including EV charging, solar-ready features, and smart parking systems. The garage also supports Kansas City’s largest One Percent for Art installation to date, reinforcing the role infrastructure plays in shaping public experience.

This project reflects how thoughtful structural engineering supports not just buildings, but movement, safety, and the user experience at scale.
