KC Fire Station 19

Leigh + O’Kane contributed to KC Fire Station 19, a public safety facility in Kansas City, Missouri, designed to support emergency response and the day-to-day needs of firefighters. The two-story, 18,000-square-foot station brings together emergency vehicle bays and personnel spaces in a layout that prioritizes readiness, functionality, and privacy. SFS Architecture Direct connections between the apparatus bays and the station’s living, kitchen, dining, and fitness areas help firefighters remain ready to respond. Individual sleeping accommodations and private restroom and shower facilities provide separation between shared operational spaces and personal areas. Durable materials, natural light, and ventilation support a practical environment designed to reduce maintenance demands while serving the people who protect the community.
