St Louis Zoo Primate Canopy Trails

Leigh + O’Kane provided structural engineering services for the Primate Canopy Trails at the St. Louis Zoo in St. Louis, Missouri, supporting an elevated, immersive exhibit designed to bring visitors closer to animal habitats.

The project involved structural systems that accommodate elevated pathways, complex geometries, and environmental exposure while integrating seamlessly with the surrounding landscape and exhibit design. Coordination with the project team was essential to align structural requirements with the architectural vision and the functional needs of the exhibit.

This project highlights Leigh + O’Kane’s ability to support experiential and highly specialized environments, where engineering must balance performance, creativity, and the visitor experience.
