Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopment

The Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopment is a nationally recognized facility dedicated to research, clinical care, and education focused on autism and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Leigh + O’Kane served as the structural engineer for this highly specialized facility, supporting a design that prioritizes functionality, comfort, and flexibility for patients, families, clinicians, and researchers. The building was thoughtfully engineered to accommodate a wide range of uses, including clinical treatment spaces, research labs, education areas, and collaborative environments.

Structural solutions were carefully coordinated to support the Center’s mission, ensuring adaptability for evolving research needs while maintaining a calm, welcoming environment. The project reflects how structural engineering can quietly support sensitive, human-centered spaces that serve diverse populations and long-term community needs.
